The girl didn't refuse his gesture and tacitly accepted it, asking, "What's going on? Have you suddenly come into money?" De Silva thought to himself, "I'm doing this all for you. If I don't make some progress soon, Gloria will kick me out." But aloud he said, "Yes, I've found a way to make money."
"What is it? Can you tell me?" the girl asked excitedly.
"Well..." he hesitated. The girl irritably withdrew her hand and said with displeasure, "Fine, don't tell me then. Forget I asked." De Silva was now deeply regretting his words, thinking: Why did I dig myself into this hole? Now that she's taken my lie seriously, how can I fix this? Suddenly, an idea struck him. "I found a treasure map that leads to a cache of gold."
The girl's eyes lit up with expectation. "Really? Is there more?"
"Of course there is!" De Silva blurted out, immediately regretting his words. When he got home, his first task was to draw a treasure map, since Basali wanted to go treasure hunting with him. Alena had also returned home and immediately asked, "Brother, who was that girl you were with?"
"How did you know? Were you following me?" Cornered, De Silva eventually revealed his involvement with the resistance. "Can I join too?" Alena asked. "Just knowing about it is enough. It's dangerous work - don't get involved."
"No, I want to avenge Mr. Norforth."
"You only met him once. Why such devotion?"
"Yes, but he was the most gentlemanly and charismatic man I've ever met." After some thought, De Silva said, "Alright, I'll be your sponsor." Alena joined the resistance ten days later, with duties similar to Basali's as a liaison.
Time flew by, and more than six months passed. Afastin was living a comfortable and warm life in the Eagle's Nest. He and Daechir had fallen in love and were living together. Since his arrival, they had started growing fruits and vegetables and raising poultry. He felt happy with his beautiful girlfriend and delicious meals served to him every morning, though the only drawback was that Daechir couldn't bear children. One day, she said to Afastin, "Mr. Ronnie only has you and De Silva as descendants. If neither of you marries, the Eagle's Nest will have no heir and lose its purpose."
"What do you suggest?"
"You should go find a human wife."
Afastin thought to himself, "If I could find one, I would have married already instead of staying here." Lost in thought, he didn't respond immediately. "Why aren't you saying anything?" Daechir asked. "I don't want to find anyone else. I just want to be with you."
Daechir smiled, "Alright, I'll figure something out." Deep beneath the Eagle's Nest, six robots worked tirelessly, excavating day and night. They were simple working robots capable of only basic communication. The Nest had expanded to cover an area reaching twenty kilometers out, becoming an underground city capable of housing hundreds of thousands, though currently occupied by just one human and two robots. Daechir planned to find some girls to bear children for the Watson family. She left through a secret passage and reached a village five kilometers away, but found only dark-skinned women there. Abandoning that plan, she went to a university fifty kilometers away. After spending a morning observing, she spotted a tall, attractive student with fair skin. The challenge now was getting her to agree. She tried using money as persuasion but was immediately rejected. She lowered her standards and tried with others, but got the same result - everyone thought she was a scammer. She returned to the Eagle's Nest disappointed. Afastin asked immediately, "How did it go?"
"No one would come. I can't force them."
"Why not?"
"Mr. Ronnie set rules for us: we can't harm or attack humans without cause, as our technology doesn't belong to this era." Afastin complained, "Grandfather was too meddlesome."
"I hope you can find a human girlfriend on your own and continue the lineage."
"How could I possibly do that?" Afastin muttered quietly. De Silva had won Basali's heart with a fake treasure map. He first buried some gold coins in a mountain, then took her treasure hunting with the map. He gave all the discovered coins to her, which were worth over 50,000 shillings. Basali, who had never worried about money in the city-state where everything was free, only realized how hard it was to earn money after leaving. The resistance didn't pay wages, and everyone needed a job to support themselves. Her monthly salary was less than 1,000 shillings, so when De Silva gave her all the gold coins, she was moved to tears. They were now at the stage of discussing marriage, and Basali had moved in with De Silva. Since joining the resistance, Alena had achieved considerable success, recruiting eighteen members, mostly young men around twenty years old. They were all devoted followers, willing to give their lives for her.
In an Illuminati secret chamber, Corey sat across from Glo, who had been held there for two days. Only a few resistance members knew about this, with two others detained in adjacent rooms. "Will you still not cooperate, Ms. Glo?" Corey asked.
"Stop wasting words, Corey. I won't agree," Gloria refused loudly.
"Fine, very well." Corey left and went to the next room, where a man hung covered in blood. "Kerry, do you want to leave here alive?"
"What do you mean?" Kerry slowly raised his head, feeling a glimmer of hope. "I'll let you go, but you must do something for me."
"What is it?"
"When you return, tell your comrades that Glo has defected to the Illuminati."
"That's impossible."
"Is it? So you want to die? Remember, death isn't scary - the process of dying is." Hearing this, Kerry's body began trembling involuntarily. After a while, he said, "Can I think about it?"
"You have twenty minutes."
"Thank you!" Kerry replied politely, though Corey knew the man was already completely broken. Sure enough, after just ten minutes, Kerry spoke up, "I'll do as you say." The next day, Corey returned to the resistance headquarters and vividly described his escape. Finally, he said, "I heard Glo has joined the Illuminati."
"That's impossible!" As soon as he spoke, five core members present unanimously denied it. "I thought it was impossible too, I'm just repeating what I heard."
"Kerry, you shouldn't spread such rumors. It will hurt morale," one member warned. "I understand!" Kerry replied verbally, but thought to himself, "Corey, you've made this too simple."
