"Dad, give it back to her!" Sonita said to the man.
The man picked up the small sphere and examined it carefully, afraid of being deceived. The energy sphere was translucent, with a black center, looking like a crystal ball. "Should I hand it over or not?" the man hesitated. He turned to his wife beside him and asked, "Margot, what do you think we should do?"
The woman was unwilling in her heart but didn't want to say it out loud, afraid of hurting her daughter's feelings. "Let's do as Sonita says."
"Alright!" the man said, tossing the energy sphere to Yurina.
Yurina was overjoyed, catching it and swallowing it in one gulp. "Thank you!" she said, nodding at the man.
The relationship between the two sides immediately improved. Ares walked straight to Daechir, placed the dried corpse he was holding on the ground, and asked, "Can you resurrect her?"
"You recognize me?" Daechir asked back in surprise.
Ares shook his head. "I know you are also a robot, and a very advanced one."
Daechir wanted to confirm if he still had his memories and asked, "Do you know what this place is?"
But she didn't get the answer she wanted. He pointed to the dried corpse on the ground and said, "I hope you can save her."
"That's impossible. She's been dead for too long. Even Father couldn't do anything."
"Then you all should leave. I want to be alone."
"Little guy, don't be too much. This is our territory. You should be the one to leave," said Yurina, who had just finished consuming an energy sphere.
Although Ares was also a robot, there was a difference. He could eat like a human and also consume energy spheres, something Daechir and Yurina couldn't do. "Dopey, drive these people out," Ares called to the robot dog.
Dopey obeyed and pounced on the man standing at the front. It had disliked this man for a while; he had snatched the energy sphere from its mouth when it wasn't looking. Now, with its master's command, it could finally get its revenge. It lunged with particular force, but unfortunately, its teeth were too small, or else it would have torn a chunk of flesh from him. With a pained cry of "Ah!", blood instantly streamed from the man's calf. After a successful strike, it immediately turned towards Sonita and her mother. The woman hurriedly picked up her daughter, but her own ankle was bitten firmly. The man, frantic, ignored the wound on his leg and kicked out. With a whoosh, the robot dog flew through the air, crashing into a metal drum before falling heavily to the ground. It staggered, swayed for a moment, and finally managed to stand firm. "Woof, woof, woof!" Dopey's barks were filled with fury. The man stood protectively in front of Sonita and her mother, cursing non-stop. He never imagined he would one day be in a standoff with a small dog, and such a tiny robot dog at that. Yurina had long since retreated behind the others, not wanting to get bitten. Kit, holding the head, happened to be standing next to her. "Are you a robot too?" Kit asked, staring intently at Yurina, unable to believe such a beautiful girl wasn't human. Yurina looked him up and down and said with a grin, "Yes, I am. Why don't you believe it? Can you give me the head you're holding?"
"No way! I still need her to find the treasure!"
"Oh!" Yurina finally understood. It turned out Daechir had used treasure as bait to lure these people here. While they were talking, Dopey once again lunged at Sonita's family. The man picked up a piece of iron from the ground and threw it hard. With a loud bang and a shower of sparks, it hit the dog's head. Dopey's paws slipped, and it fell to its front knees. A moment later, it struggled to its feet, paused, and looked up at Ares. "Don't be afraid. You can't die."
"Woof, woof!" Receiving its master's confirmation, Dopey charged forward again. As it got close, it made a sharp turn, circled behind the man, and bit Kit's leg. "Get off me, you despicable mutt!" No matter how much he yelled, Dopey wouldn't let go. Yurina, afraid of being caught in the crossfire, quickly ran away.
"Don't you like watching the excitement? Now you've got what you deserve," Sonita said sarcastically. She was unhappy with Kit's earlier reaction, which is why she said this. "Help! Get this damn thing off me!" Kit cried out miserably, but no one came to help him.
Yurina shouted at him, "Quickly throw the head in your hands to me! Be careful not to drop it!"
"Don't trust her! She'll run away as soon as she gets it," the man warned.
The different parties all had their own schemes, and no one trusted anyone else. Just then, Daechir suddenly shouted loudly, "Ares, tell your dog to stop attacking, or we won't be polite!"
She yelled several times, but he seemed not to hear, just staring blankly at the dried corpse on the ground. "Yurina, you go grab him," she called out to the distant figure.
"I'm not going! Why don't you tell that man to go?"
"His leg is injured, and he won't listen to me." Yurina's current plan was to take Daechir to the warehouse to find more energy spheres. She didn't want to get involved in this fight; she would rather these people died here so that Eagle's Nest would be all hers. Perhaps it got bored of biting one person, Dopey released its grip and darted to Ares's side. "Woof, woof!" it barked twice triumphantly. Ares suddenly came to his senses and gently stroked its head.
"Mom, I think this little guy is so pitiful," Sonita said, wriggling free from her mother's embrace.
"He's a bad person who hurt your father. Why do you pity him?"
"We were the ones who broke in here first, causing trouble for others. It's not entirely his fault."
"Sonita, you're actually speaking up for him?" There was a hint of anger in the woman's voice.
"Mom, ever since we started on this treasure hunt, I've noticed you've changed. You're no longer the gentle and kind woman you used to be."
"Don't talk nonsense!"
Sonita covered her mouth and smiled. "In the past, you would never have said something like that." Ares picked up the dried corpse from the ground and walked away. Dopey hurriedly followed, and the Garden of Eden instantly fell silent. Kit and the others looked at each other, the atmosphere slightly awkward. After a quarter of an hour, Yurina was the first to break the silence. "I know you people came here to find gold, while Daechir and I just want to restore our bodies. How about this: I'll tell you the location of the treasure trove, and you can go find it yourselves. What do you think?"
"Didn't you say only a robot could get in?" Sonita asked.
"Who told you that?"
Sonita pointed a finger at the head. "That crazy woman said so." Yurina shot a quick glance at Daechir, her heart full of questions. "What else did you tell them?"
She could only continue to spin her story. "She's just a pitiful head, what could she possibly know? I know much more than she does. Of course, there are other entrances here. If you give her to me, I'll take you there."
"Kit, don't believe this woman! She's lying!" Sonita immediately warned.
