The meal lasted for over two hours, and Amandine was so stuffed that he could barely stand. In the end, he had to rely on two people to help him back to his room. Lying on the soft, plush bed, he felt a mix of emotions, thinking to himself, "This kind of intense affection is too much for me to bear." The next day, he didn’t wake up until midday. After using the bathroom and leaving his room, he found the girl from yesterday waiting outside. “Sir, did you sleep well last night?”
“Don’t call me ‘sir’; just call me ‘brother.’”
The girl was put off by the idea of calling this wrinkled old man ‘brother.’ After a while, she quietly responded, “Brother!”
After they had breakfast, Suya also appeared. “Do you have a lot of questions in your mind?”
Amandine nodded but was secretly thinking, “Should she confess her feelings to me? What should I do? I’m too soft-hearted; she’s been so nice to me that it’s hard to refuse her.”
“I have something to show you that will clear everything up.” Suya pulled out a button-sized electronic device.
Amandine gasped, “The Time Phone!”
“Yes, you should have one too.”
“How do you know?” Amandine was even more astonished.
“Because I’ve been in contact with Katherine long before you.”
“You know my sister?”
“Yes, and it was with her help that I became wealthy.”
Amandine felt a bit disappointed, realizing it was due to his sister and not some secret affection directed towards him. He then asked, “You said you’re not the mother of the big water buffalo?”
“No, when I found the baby, I discovered this Time Phone on her.” After a week of trying to connect, I didn’t expect to get through. At first, I thought it was a prank call, but when Katherine helped me earn a few thousand shillings, I completely believed in her. She later told me to go to 'Dares Salaam University' to find someone and give the baby to him—that person is you.”
“Why did she want to give the baby to me?”
“I don’t know that; you’ll have to ask her yourself.” Amandine took the Time Phone from her and immediately tried to contact Katherine. After several beeping sounds, a sweet voice answered, “Suya, how did it go? Did you find Amandine?”
“It’s Katherine; I am Amandine!”
“How are you? I’ve been so worried about you,” Katherine exclaimed, overwhelmed with relief.
“I’m fine; you don’t have to worry. Katherine, can I ask why you wanted Suya to give the baby to me?”
“Well…” After a moment of silence, she continued, “Amandine, you need to believe me; everything I do is for the city-state and was our father’s last wish before he passed away. I can’t tell you the answer right now because I fear it may influence history.”
“Okay! Since it’s Dad’s wish, I’ll trust you.”
“I hope you can stay at Suya’s estate for the next few years and not wander around. Is that alright?”
“Why? I’ll go crazy being cooped up.”
“Stop asking why, and just listen to me this once.” Katherine said, irritated.
The conversation ended abruptly between the siblings. Amandine chose to obey his sister, realizing he had nowhere else to go. After parting ways, Uwa returned to the farm, determined to reclaim the invisibility cloak, a crucial element of their plan. Since Ludes had acquired the cloak, it had become difficult for her to act. Every day, she quietly contacted Katherine to discuss her difficulties, and Katherine provided her with suggestions. In recent days, Uwa had been keeping a close eye on Ludes, planning to seize the invisibility cloak while he took a shower. But Ludes always managed to avoid bathing, and each time he went out, he was accompanied by two bodyguards.
Today, Uwa devised a chance, bringing a bucket of paint to touch up the walls. She painted until dusk, and only then did Ludes return to the farm. As Ludes walked past her, Uwa suddenly slipped, staggered, and spilled half a bucket of white paint all over Ludes. “I’m so sorry, sir!” Uwa exclaimed.
To Ludes, Uwa had always seemed innocent and kind-hearted, never suspecting that Uwa was filled with disdain and could kill him without a second thought if necessary. As expected, Ludes, now splattered with paint, immediately rushed to the bathroom. Seizing the opportunity, Uwa grabbed a wooden stick and followed him in. The bathroom door was closed but not locked, presenting a perfect opportunity. Uwa pushed the door open and slipped into the bathroom. “Uwa, what are you doing?”
Uwa didn’t answer; instead, she closed the door behind her, lifted the stick, and aimed for Ludes’s head. A piercing scream echoed, “Ahhh!” Soon after, there was a knock outside the door.
“Sir, are you alright?” Uwa had found the invisibility cloak and was hiding behind the door. She opened it to find three people rushing in, led by Gakun, who immediately spotted Ludes lying in the bathtub. He glanced around but didn’t see Uwa and assumed the old man had slipped while bathing. Meanwhile, Uwa had already donned the cloak and made her escape. No one was more suited for the gear than her, as she could hold her breath the longest.
Once she reached a safe location, Uwa excitedly reported back to Katherine, “Sister, I really did it! I got the cloak back!” Overcome with emotion, Uwa began to cry, recalling Amandine in that moment.
In the future, when Katherine and Uwa spoke on the phone, a beautiful girl named “Inos” stood beside her. Inos was a robot and once Amandine’s girlfriend. After searching fruitlessly for Amandine, she returned to Katherine three years ago. In this future, she was the most advanced emotional robot. With her help, Katherine recaptured “Isolated Manor” and established her own influence.
“Sister, why can’t Amandine and Uwa meet?” Inos asked.
“If they meet, Uwa will revert to her old self, and Amandine will die. I want him to spend his old age peacefully in Suya’s manor.”
“Peacefully in his old age?” Inos felt uncomfortable hearing this.
“Yes, if Father hadn’t given him the ‘Telomere Rejuvenation Liquid,’ he would be over eighty years old.” Meanwhile, Amandine was living a life of luxury in Suya's estate, completely unaware of the drastic changes happening outside. One day, he happened to see news about Norforth’s death online and was overwhelmed with grief. Norforth, the founder of the city-state, had once been his best friend; they had arrived in this era together, built the city-state together, and fought side by side. Soon after, he closely followed news of the city-state, and when he learned that it had been overtaken by the Illuminati, he was enraged. He could no longer stay idle; it was time to reclaim his former glory. He decided to bid farewell to Suya and leave this place, but as he began to speak, he was met with strong objections.
“Why?” Amandine demanded angrily. “Miss Katherine has ordered that you stay here.”
“What? Is she trying to control me now?”
“Just listen to your sister; you have only one hand left. What else can you do?” Despite this, Amandine was adamant about leaving. Suya was left with no choice but to lock him on the second floor and ordered four people to watch over him. Confined to the room with nothing to do, Amandine vented his frustration by smashing everything he could lift. Eventually, Suya relented after Amandine threatened to commit suicide by jumping from the second floor, resulting in him lying in bed for over a month before he could finally get back on his feet.
