The robot Yurina drifted on the boat for two years before being discovered by a cargo ship. She hid in the ship's hold, afraid of being seen, but unfortunately, the ship returned to Australia. She was now performing with a circus. The ringmaster was a dwarf less than a meter tall. The circus was very small, with only six members, all of whom were strange-looking non-humans. There was an elephant-man with a long, freely moving nose, an octopus-man, a two-headed baby girl, and a faceless man. Yurina was the sweet-looking half-person. She had joined the circus hoping they would take her back to Africa, but after so many years, her wish had not been fulfilled. She had gradually grown accustomed to life there; in this peculiar group, no one paid her much attention, which gave her a sense of security.
To conserve energy, she only came out to be active during performances. Her act was singing, dressed up as an elderly woman to avoid unnecessary trouble. Even so, her energy was slowly depleting. At this rate, she would completely lose mobility in another six months. She started to panic, but the circus's meager income was only enough to feed its members, making it impossible to take her out of Australia. This time, they were performing in a bar. She decided to reveal her true appearance to attract a wealthy man to take her away. She specifically wore a low-cut V-neck short-sleeved top. The moment she appeared, a gasp went through the bar. The performance was a great success. After the show, three men came forward to ask her out. She chose a middle-aged man who looked relatively wealthy. "I'll pick you up tonight? Where do you live?" the man asked.
Yurina looked at him affectionately. "Why do you want to ask me out?" She didn't want a one-night stand; she hoped the man would genuinely fall for her so she wouldn't be abandoned.
The man squatted down, picked her up, and placed her on the table. "My dear! It was love at first sight. Please don't doubt my sincerity."
That night, Yurina left the circus and moved into the middle-aged man's apartment. The two were inseparable, like glue. Half a month passed in a blur. Yurina felt the time was right and said to the middle-aged man, "Johnny, I want to go to Mexico. Can you take me there?"
"What for?"
Yurina wanted to find Ronnie this time because she knew he was grown up and could fully help her restore her original body. "I want to find someone!" she replied.
"Who?"
"He is my father!" Yurina lied.
Johnny asked in surprise, "A robot like you has a father?" Yurina hated being called a robot and replied angrily, "He is the one who created me. Is it wrong to call him Father?" Three days later, the two boarded a flight to Mexico, with Yurina stuffed in a suitcase as luggage. After getting off the plane, Johnny took her out of the suitcase. They first went to You City but didn't find Ronnie. Then they went to the baron's house in "Shire Town," but the real Yurina had passed away a year ago. The robot Yurina was kicked out before she could even enter the door. She was lost and didn't know what to do.
At the same time, in a small village on the coast of Africa, a group of thirteen- and fourteen-year-old boys gathered around a dirty human head. A boy with thick lips pointed at another skinny boy and asked, "Kit, where did you get this thing?"
"I took it from home. It's been in my dad's room for several years."
"You said it can sing?" Kit didn't answer but demonstrated directly. He lifted his foot and gently kicked the head. "Crazy woman, sing!"
After several kicks, the head remained silent. Losing face, he kicked it hard again. This time, there was finally a sound, but it wasn't singing, but a roar, "Kit, you damn brat! I'm your elder! How dare you treat me like this?"
As soon as she finished speaking, a roar of laughter erupted from the surroundings. Kit's face flushed bright red. "That's a woman's voice. Is it your mother?" one boy said.
Just as Kit was about to answer, the head cut in, "I have no such son!"
"Then can you sing? Can you sing for us?" Before long, a sad Spanish song began to play. The singer was none other than Daechir, the one who had been swallowed by a tiger shark. Back then, the shark had carried her over five hundred kilometers away. She was excreted a week later and drifted in the sea. Following the currents, twenty years passed, and she finally reached the coast of Africa. Five years ago, Kit's father found the head on the beach and brought it home. At first, he thought it was just a toy doll and paid it no mind, until one night, he was awakened by the sound of a woman crying in the room. Daechir told him her story and begged the man to take her back to Eagle's Nest. He agreed. On the fourth day, the two arrived at Yike Town in southern Ethiopia, just a dozen kilometers from Eagle's Nest. After spending a night at a hotel in town, the man suddenly changed his mind and took her back home. "Why?" Daechir kept asking this question on the way back. The man replied coldly, "I asked around. The entrance you mentioned has become a factory. It's useless to go."
"We can go in through other passages!"
"No, I don't want to get involved in this anymore." No matter how Daechir pleaded, she was taken back home. For the first year, she was thrown in a corner. It wasn't until one day her singing attracted the man that she received any attention. Gradually, she integrated into the family. The man passed away half a month ago, and his son, Kit, brought Daechir out to show off to his friends. After the song ended, the thick-lipped boy pointed at the head and said, "Kit, can you give this to me?"
"Impossible! This is my family's treasure." Daechir immediately shouted, "Take me with you! I don't belong to him." The thick-lipped boy was overjoyed, bent down, and picked up the head from the ground. "Wendy, what are you doing?" Kit yelled urgently. "I'm not unreasonable. I'll give you two fish for this thing. How about it?"
Kit thought for a moment and nodded in agreement. He followed Wendy home but only received two thumb-sized small fish. He became dissatisfied, and the two started arguing. The other boy was a head taller than him, making him no match. He was quickly pinned to the ground, the two small fish were taken back, he was kicked hard on the butt, and then thrown out. That night, Wendy asked Daechir many questions. "Is there really gold in the place you mentioned?"
"I'm not lying to you. As long as you can take me there, I'll help you get it."
"But I don't have a car or money. How can I get there?"
"You'll have to figure that out yourself. If you want to get rich, you have to take action." Daechir hadn't given up hope and still wanted this young man to take her back to Eagle's Nest. This time, she used gold as bait. Now, the only thing that could motivate others to help was treasure.
